To help you better understand how my business works and therefore
serve you best, I offer these two sets of tips. I hope you will find them helpful.
• Tips for Web Site Customers
• Tips for On-site Customers (work at your site)
Tips for Web Site Customers
For your convenience, I come to your site to work with you on the design of your
Web site, and to review major updates to an existing site. (See the "Contact
Me" section below.)
Plan Ahead
For Web site design, work is done on a first-come/first-served basis, unless there
is something critical or an emergency arises. Therefore, the more you can plan ahead
for any Web site work needed and submit it at your earliest convenience, the better.
Submitting Updates
Most Web site work is submitted via email, but this is not always seen every day.
If an issue or update is urgent, or if you send an urgent email, put URGENT in the
subject and please leave me a phone message about it. (See the "Contact Me"
section below.)
If needed for larger or more complex Web site updates, please make an appointment
so we may review together the work to be done. (See the "Contact Me" section
below.)
Contact Me
When making an appointment, please call (versus sending email), and use 882-5673.
ALWAYS leave your phone number and if there's a good time to reach you. If possible,
leave a brief description of the issue. You can leave a message 24 hours a day.
As I am often out at on the job, I am not always available when you call. Returning
phone calls is a high priority and is typically done within 24 hours (weekend calls
slightly longer). Email is a lower priority and may not be read every day, so please
understand if I don't response right away. If an issue is urgent, or if you send
an urgent email, please leave me a phone message.
Charges
There is no charge for Web site meetings. Charges occur only by the hour (currently
$60) while working on your site. Invoices are sent out once a month unless we make
other arrangements. Payment is due within 20 days of receipt of invoice (net 20 days).
Any photos, artwork, or images you send via email saves me time and therefore saves
you money. The same is true for text needed to be changed or entered on a Web site
-- if you can email it already typed, it need only be copied and formatted as needed.
Other suggestions will be offered to lessen the time or cost for Web site work, and
working within your budget.
I will do my best to accommodate any critical or emergency needs. But know this will
likely require rescheduling of existing work or appointments, working overtime, and
additional charges.
Tips for On-site Customers (work at your site)
For your convenience, I come to your site to work with you on the computer. This
helps because then we are working with all of your equipment and software.
Plan Ahead
For the on-site portion of my business, work is done by appointment and these can
fill up fast. Therefore, the more you can plan ahead for an appointment and contact
me at your earliest convenience, the better.

Fixing Problems
If you are having problems, make a note of the computer's behavior, when it started,
exactly when it occurs, and record any applicable error messages. For larger problems,
a chronological log is very helpful of all that has occurred or been done, and when.
When you call with a problem, I may be able to determine over the phone that it's
something I cannot fix, or is better fixed my someone else. If that's the case, a
referral to those that can fix the problem as well as suggested alternatives will
be provided.
When fixing a problem, I will do my best to diagnose it in as short amount of time
as possible, and then suggest a solution. In some cases, it is more efficient that
I take the computer home to work on it. If I am unable to fix the problem, a referral
to those that can fix the problem as well as suggested alternatives will be provided.
Charges
For those in the west Benzie County and nearby area, there is no minimum, travel
time, or mileage charge, or a higher charge for on-site visits. Charges are based
strictly by the hour (currently $60, less for training, and applied on a sliding
scale)) while working on your computer, or for the cost any equipment or parts supplied,
and payment is greatly appreciated at the time of service/delivery.
I will do my best to accommodate any critical or emergency needs. But know this will
likely require rescheduling of existing work or appointments, working overtime, and
additional charges.
